My name is Irfan Suryansyah, and I am a future educator currently experiencing an incredible journey through the SEA-Teacher Program. This program gives education students like me a golden opportunity to teach, observe, and learn directly in schools across ASEAN countries—including the Philippines!
For the past few weeks, I’ve been placed at LabSchool, Southern Leyte State University, Tomas Oppus, Philippines. Teaching here has truly opened my eyes to different education systems, unique cultures, and fresh ways to connect with students and teachers in an international setting.
In this blog, I’ll be sharing my journey—from my first impressions at the school, the teaching methods I tried, my interactions with students and teachers, to the unexpected challenges and surprises along the way.
